POLICY

This Association will, at all times, be completely independent from governments, political parties and/or groups and refrain from all politically motivated activities, directly or indirectly.

The Policy is based on the main mission of AJA to unite Armenian jewelers from Armenia and the Diaspora in order to further the development of the jewelry industry in Armenia, as well as to advance Armenian jewelry manufacturing, trade and commerce throughout the world. The purpose of the organization is to draw on the strengths of its members based on their Armenian heritage and their diverse entrepreneurial and business experience in order to foster communication among jewelers in the vast Armenian community.

The activities initiated by AJA are highly valued by the Armenian Government and regarded as an outstanding example of how the interaction between Armenia and the Diaspora must develop, as well as how an Armenian professional association in the Diaspora must function. We are setting an example of business, which is equally beneficial for us and for our compatriots in Armenia. The Association is going to promote regional and international trade and commerce by encouraging foreign investments in Armenia. This means new job opportunities, and every job created in Armenia during this difficult period of economic transition means a better life for an Armenian family. Another important field of policy is the prompt and efficient exchange of information between Armenian jewelers, which is very important as we have entered the millennium of information. Today, it is already obvious that with unity, we are an instrument that will preserve and develop the Armenian jewelry heritage and present it to the world through exhibitions and publications.

AJA’s policy is developed intentionally to not interfere with its activities:

• To link individual business people, merchants, manufacturers, traders, agents, industrialists and executives in the jewelry industry of Armenian descent, into an association in order to cooperate in the economic development and general welfare of the Armenian jeweler.

• To lobby for and promote legislation and regulations affecting jewelry trade and commerce in the USA, Armenia and internationally.

• To promote regional and international trade and commerce by way of promoting foreign and local investments in Armenia, and the export Armenian manufactured jewelry and related services to foreign countries.

• To identify and initiate new areas of jewelry-related business ventures and commercial dealings between members.

• To obtain preferential rates for regional and international common services, such as: insurance, security, banking, legal services, accounting, freight, advertising, telecommunications, computer and technology services, transportation and other relevant services commensurate with the businesses of AJA members.

• To provide a forum for discussion, counseling, and networking between Armenian jewelers and related businesses around the world.
